About Insys

Announcement Elodia Van Lembergen from 1930

Origin

It started in the beginning of previous century when Elodie Van Lembergen - Vereecken was a dressmaker in Opwijk a small town near Brussels. She had a small shop where she was also teaching young women the profession of dressmaking. Three of her daughters learned their mothers profession which they could practice at home. As they had the patterns in their head every piece of fabric was turned into something nice and usefull. The respect for craftsmanship and the eye for detail was passed over to the next generations.

Start

In 1987 more then 60 years later Jan Leyssens, the great-grandson of Elodie, started Insys after his studies in physics and computer science. He inherited the interest for technology from his father and the passion for textile from his mother. So the company soon started to specialize in solutions for the fashion and sewn-products industry. This industry is characterized by releasing big numbers of new products and styles every year and season. The challenge, on which Insys has worked since, has been to develop integrated systems for this industry making the complex processes from initial design over order planning, production and retail more efficient.

Present

Following the movement of production out of Western-Europe towards the east, Insys established a branch office in Poland in 1997. Over the years Insys build here a team of skilled developers who are acknowledged for their technical competence and knowlegde of the industry. Because all the core development is done by our own staff we are flexible to adapt to our customers demands and to valuable new technologies.
